- (7/7) Late breaking news from the free agent front. The Flyers have signed free agent goaltender John Vanbiesbrouck to a 3 year $11 million dollar deal with the third year option. He will be guaranteed $8 million over the first 2 years. For one, I am delighted with the fact that we got ourselves a goaltender. Yeah, he may be older and had a bad year last year, but he can still play the nets and do a good job of it.  Oh, and Clarkie had a reason for going after the Beezer. This leaves some salary cap space open to sign a big name F.A. A name that has been popping around is Ron Francis. (Click Here for the complete story about the Vanbiesbrouck deal).

- (7/6) The Flyers made their first free agent move today. Bob Clarke signed a one-time antagonist to the Flyers. Does the name Marc Bureau ring a bell? Oh, that's right... He's the guy that cleaned Svoboda's clock 2 years ago with and elbow to his head (he was on the Montreal Canadiens at the time). Well, I'm happy he's a Flyer. He adds some more grit and some speed. He isn't really known as a great goal scorer, but he does chip in with some goals on occasion. With Montreal last year, he scored 13 goals and had 5 assists for 19 pts.

- (7/2) Word is that Mike Richter and Curtis Joseph have definitely talked with Bobby Clarke about possibly signing with the Flyers. It is also possible that Clarke has contacted John Vanbiesbrouck. Most speculation is that either Richter or Joseph will mind the nets for the Flyers next season. Although, it has been revealed in the last few days that the Rangers were heavily interested in Joseph.

I will fill out the roster when the free agency period has ended for the Flyers. As for the stats, they will be updated when the season starts.

October something :o)
